lpg gas subsidy not received in my bank account what to do ?

What To Do If LPG Subsidy is Not Received

LPG Subsidy is one of the benefits offered by the Indian government to individuals, while procuring their gas cylinders for the month. The government has introduced the DBTL PAHAL scheme, that allows individuals to receive their subsidy directly into their bank accounts, so as to facilitate easy transfer of funds as well as to prevent fraudulent transactions and misuse of the subsidy. Once they have applied for this scheme, individuals will have to check the status of their subsidy application. In order to apply for this scheme, individuals will have to compulsorily provide their Aadhaar card details.
However, despite these measures, there are times wherein individuals don’t receive their subsidies in their account. There could be numerous reasons as to why this has occurred. But regardless of the reasons, this inconvenience highly discourages individuals from wanting to procure the DBTL PAHAL scheme.

The following paragraph will talk about the common reasons as to why LPG subsidy is not credited to the bank account of the individual along with solutions for the same.
  • Subsidy has not been received despite cylinder being delivered.
Once the cylinder has been delivered, it takes individuals a period of 2-3 days for their subsidy to be reflected in their bank account. In case, individuals have not received their subsidy even after this period, they can contact the DBTL Grievance Cell.
  • The transaction has failed.
In case the subsidy has been sent but the same has not been reflected in the individual’s bank account, he/she must visit their bank branch with their Aadhaar card and enquire

  • Subsidy has been transferred but it is not seen in the bank account.
In case there is no failed transaction and the amount has been transferred but the individual has not received, then individuals can visit the bank branch with their Aadhaar card. Alternatively, they can link their Aadhaar card to another bank account.
  • The cylinder has been booked but individuals have not received LPG subsidy.
Individuals are advised to wait for a minimum period of 4 days post which they can call the toll free number 18002333555. The customer care representatives will take care of the rest. Updates will be sent to the individual’s mobile number.

LPG Subsidy Helpline

At times, when you have any question or doubt about the LPG subsidy scheme, you can call up on the DBTL Helpline number. A common call centre has been set up by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. All the LPG customers of HP Gas, Indane and Bharat Gas can call up on this helpline number for resolving their queries. The helpline number of the DBTL Grievance Cell is 1800-2333-555.
There are a number of cases of individuals who have not received their subsidy and the reasons are generally one of the above. Contacting either the gas agency or bank will generally sort the issue out. In case problems still persist, individuals can contact the DBTL helpline.

It’s important to note that if you aren’t shifting between cities, you can retain the same LPG cylinder and pressure regulator and reuse the same at the new distributor.
If your current distributor can still service the location of your new address, you can just have them update your address details in their KYC documents and continue filling the same cylinder at the same location.

An ID proof and address proof document of the Transferor and the Transferee must also be submitted at the time of transferring the connection for the distributor’s records and to maintain legality in the transaction. Both the Transferor and Transferee have to sign the declaration form.
